Pilates

As the only Balanced Body Mandarin Chinese teacher training studio in North America, we hold all our teachers to the highest standards, requiring them to have in-depth knowledge of anatomy and years of teaching practice. This allows us to cultivate a group of professional instructors who are able to conduct the body evaluation through observing movements in class and design a comprehensive set of exercises tailored to your individual needs. In just 55 minutes , we aim on releasing the muscle tension caused by poor posture, strengthen your core muscles, and regain the stability and strength your body requires. Our training focuses on achieving balance in all directions to avoid pain rather than treat issues afterward. By consistent practice, our goal is to internalize the most optimal movement patterns for your daily life which hopefully keeps you a pain-free lifestyle.

Pilates involves a significant amount of eccentric and concentric muscle training, resulting in a slender and toned physique, while avoiding the problem of developing bulky shoulders and back muscles through weightlifting.

For athletes engaged in sports such as golf or tennis, Pilates not only helps you find your body’s center, but also targets key muscle groups, making your serves more effortless and powerful.

Due to our Education Director, Ivy’s personal experience with scoliosis, she has dedicated significant effort over the years to in-depth research. Her goal is to promote a pain-free and healthy lifestyle for herself and fellow scoliosis sufferers, enhancing their quality of life!”

GYROTONIC®

We are proud to become the first studio to introduce another popular spinal exercise, Gyrotonic Method, to Arcadia in 2023!

Originated by Juliu Horvath, Gyrotonic Method is seemed as “dancer’s Yoga” because ballet dancers use it as a warm up before getting on stage.  It utilizes multidimensional spiral movements to release the constraints that hinder our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, allowing positive energy to flow.

With its varying rhythms, The Gyrotonic Method trains the body’s coordination. It incorporates different breathing techniques to stimulate the activation of the nervous system. Similar to Tai Chi, it provides gentle and safe strength training. Additionally, like yoga, it involves stretching that jumps out of the skin to improve joint mobility. Moreover, it emphasizes focused meditation to discover the inner strength of oneself!

You will feel very refreshed from inside to outside after the session!
